Building Our Future

St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Euless, TX

Vision

Cover_RSI_2We are called to make history today, to be brave and visionary builders in the tradition of our past. The project presented this fall seeks a wise balance between tradition and resources so we can meaningfully express our Orthodox heritage while nurturing our expanding needs.

The new church will be able to accommodate more than 250 people in a magnificent liturgical space. To do this we must first build an addition to the current church/hall building to replace the Paulos Center classrooms and offices. When the new church is completed, we will expand the hall into the space occupied by the church today.

The project is courageous and we are confident that coming together as a community we will accomplish it. Above all we need to understand that a Church cannot be built without sacrifice, without reassessing our priorities. The churches of old were built on the sacrifice of the martyrs; the churches today need to be built on the sacrifice of re-channeling our God-given resources toward what really matters and for our children’s future. Only upon this communal sacrificial act will we be able to build a Church that will endure, uniting us all into Christ our God.
