History
St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church was organized in 1980 thanks to a small group of dedicated Mid-Cities families. With an expanding church population, the community quickly went from being housed at a local Episcopal Church, then to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce, and finally to its permanent property on Cullum Drive. Services first began in the current Paulos Center and, in 1988, moved to the present structure.
The parishioners of St. John’s have worked hard since then to create a church home that would accommodate all our spiritual and material needs. The time has come to enter a new stage. With the design and engineering input of professionals working with our Building Committee, we are closer to the realization of a beautiful Byzantine-style church that will better express our Holy Orthodox Tradition and embrace our growing community.
